Design and Construct – Water Infrastructure
Weir Minerals
Sectors: Manufacturing

The Challenge
Weir Minerals needed specialised electrical solutions for their transition from diesel to electric pumping systems across diverse international projects, requiring high-power capabilities, environmental adaptability, and remote installation support for local workforces.
The Solution
Hitech delivered tailored electrical packages spanning custom panel design, specialized 690V systems, comprehensive documentation, and remote commissioning support—ensuring seamless integration across challenging environments from Indonesian gold mines to floating pontoon pump stations in Queensland.
The Impact
Hitech’s solutions enabled Weir to dramatically reduce emissions, enhance energy efficiency, and improve system reliability while establishing new industry benchmarks for sustainable pumping technology and supporting local employment through comprehensive remote installation guidance.
The Challenge
Weir has been transitioning from diesel-powered pumps to fully electric pumping systems across various projects
This transition required tailored electrical solutions that could handle high-power applications while ensuring efficiency, reliability, and ease of integration into existing infrastructure. Some of Hitech’s projects for Weir Minerals included coal mine dewatering in Indonesia, steel mill dewatering in New Zealand and a floating pontoon pump station in Moodlu, all of which required specialised electrical packages designed for challenging environments and operational demands. Additionally, due to some of the electrical panels being installed in remote locations, the solution had to include a comprehensive delivery package enabling a local workforce to complete the installation while being supported remotely by Hitech.
